Why Capri for this

The jackets are sorted. Under-12s wear a lifejacket the whole time, and we carry baby and child sizes — tell us ages when you book and they’re fitted at the wharf.

There’s a calm route for it. The slow loop keeps you inside Iron Cove and around Cockatoo Island — flat water, no ferry wash, toilets at the island, and the wharf never far away.

A day that works

  1. Arrive and induction

IDs for the drivers, jackets on the kids, toilets at the pontoon first.

  2. Cast off

Flat water out of Iron Cove — let an older kid steer with a hand on the wheel, the driver stays at the helm. Toilets at Cockatoo Island.

  3. Swim at a netted pool

Dawn Fraser Baths at Balmain is the closest. Jackets stay on.

  4. Back at the wharf

Home for nap time, or a fourth hour at $100.

Good to know

  • Every person counts toward the eight, babies included.
  • Kids under 12 wear a lifejacket at all times — no exceptions, even on the trampoline.
  • No toilet on board. There’s one at the pontoon before you leave and toilets at Cockatoo Island on the loop.
  • Bring hats, sunscreen, towels and snacks — the esky is iced for drinks.
  • Shoes off on deck; pack thongs for the wharf.

Questions, answered

Do you have lifejackets for kids?

Yes — baby and child sizes on board. Tell us ages when you book so the right ones are ready at the wharf.

Do babies count toward the eight?

Yes. Eight people is the boat’s limit, whatever their age.

Is it safe for kids to swim?

At a netted pool, yes, with an adult in the water. Kids under 12 keep their lifejackets on. Skip swimming anywhere with boat traffic.

Where are the toilets?

At the pontoon before you leave, and at Cockatoo Island on the slow loop. No toilet on board.

Is there shade?

Yes — the canopy covers the whole deck. The trampoline at the bow is in the sun.

Can grandparents get on board easily?

Tell us in the booking notes if anyone needs a hand boarding and we’ll be there for it. Details of the wharf step are TBC.
